When you purchase an application from Host4Apps, you don't have to worry about servers, updates to the hosting infrastructure, backups, or monitoring. We take care of the technical environment in which your application runs and continuously monitor it.
Behind our services is a carefully built infrastructure within the European Union. In this blog, we give a behind-the-scenes look and explain how we ensure a reliable and managable hosting environment.
Hosting on Proxmox
Our virtual environments run on an infrastructure based on Proxmox. Each customer application runs in its own, separate virtual environment.
This makes management clear and ensures that applications and environments remain isolated from each other. At the same time, this setup gives us the flexibility to manage resources and hosting environments efficiently.
For you as a customer, this mainly means that you get a stable environment without having to deal with the underlying virtualization or server infrastructure.
Daily backups
A reliable hosting environment cannot exist without good backups.
That’s why we make daily backups of the environments and store them
with Proxmox Backup Server (PBS).
Backups are an important part of our infrastructure and provide an extra safety net when something goes wrong unexpectedly. We take full responsibility for creating and managing these backups.
You do not have to think about a backup strategy for the hosting environment yourself.
Incoming traffic via a reverse proxy
Before incoming traffic reaches the hosted applications, it is handled by a Nginx reverse proxy. This forms a first layer between the internet and the underlying applications.
The reverse proxy ensures that traffic is checked and forwarded to the correct environment in the right way. This keeps the infrastructure clear and allows us to manage the incoming traffic centrally.
Here too, we take care of the technical setup. You only need to use your application.
External monitoring
A service can technically be online, while an application
might not be accessible. Therefore, we do not rely solely on
checks from the same environment in which the application runs.
Our environments are monitored from an external location. This allows us to check whether services are actually accessible. When a service is unavailable, we receive immediate notification and can take action.
This way, we try not to solve problems only when a customer reports them, but to respond as quickly as possible ourselves.
Small organization, short lines
In addition to technology, we also find the way we interact with customers
important. Host4Apps is a small organization. This means that you will not find
a large support team or complicated escalation procedures with us.
The lines are short and personal contact is central. When something is happening, we want to be able to switch quickly and know who you are and which environment we are managing for you.
The combination of a professional infrastructure and personal support has been deliberately chosen. We believe that good hosting is not just about servers and software, but also about trust and responsibility.

Host4Apps was born from my passion for technology and the belief that good hosting doesn't have to be complicated. Since 2001, I have been working in ICT and have gained extensive experience with IT infrastructure, systems, and online services. Since 2013, I have been offering Online SaaS services. The combination of extensive ICT experience, personal involvement, and careful management ensures that you can count on a professional service, with the short lines and personal attention of a small organization.
As the owner and sole employee, I am personally involved in everything that Host4Apps does. From managing and maintaining the infrastructure to monitoring systems and supporting customers. You have direct contact with me, without intermediaries or complicated support procedures.
Although Host4Apps is a small organization, the processes and procedures are carefully documented. This way, knowledge is not solely dependent on one person, and in case of emergencies, a fixed replacement arrangement can be relied upon. This ensures continuity of service even in unexpected situations.
